We are seeking a highly skilled, motivated, and collaborative Research Scientist specializing in Immunology to join our team in Palo Alto. This role will play an important part in the discovery and development of novel therapeutics for autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. The successful candidate will establish, optimize, and execute a broad range of in vitro and ex vivo immunological assays to support target validation, elucidate biological mechanisms, and advance programs through our drug discovery pipeline. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise in cellular immunology with scientific curiosity, experimental rigor, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, highly collaborative research environment.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Experimental Design and Execution: Design, develop, optimize, and execute complex in vitro and ex vivo experiments to test critical biological and therapeutic hypotheses, validate targets, and support drug discovery programs. Establish and perform robust cellular and functional assays using primary immune cells and relevant model systems, including DCs, T-cell and other immune-cell-based assays. Data Analysis and Scientific Communication: Analyze and interpret experimental data with scientific rigor. Maintain clear and accurate experimental records and present research findings, conclusions, and recommendations to cross-functional teams. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work effectively as a proactive and collaborative member of multidisciplinary project teams while independently managing experiments and research activities to meet project milestones and timelines. Technology Innovation: Propose, evaluate, and implement innovative experimental approaches, assay platforms, and emerging technologies that strengthen our research capabilities and accelerate drug discovery. Other duties as assignedREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Ph.D. in Immunology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, or a related scientific discipline. Cellular Immunology Expertise: Strong hands-on experience developing and conducting in vitro cellular assays, particularly immune-cell-based functional assays such as T-cell activation, proliferation, differentiation, cytokine production, and/or cytotoxicity assays. Flow Cytometry: Strong expertise in multicolor flow cytometry, including panel design, assay execution, data analysis, and interpretation.Scientific Excellence: Strong experimental design, troubleshooting, quantitative analysis, and critical-thinking skills, with a demonstrated ability to generate high-quality and reproducible data. Communication and Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate scientific findings clearly and work effectively across multidisciplinary teams. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced and evolving research environment, adapt to changing priorities, and deliver high-quality results within demanding timelines. Strong organizational and project-management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple experiments and projects simultaneously. Experience with organoid culture is highly desirable.COMPETENCIES/CORE SKILLS
