Job Details Requisition ID: 294965 Relocation Authorized: National - Single Telework Type: Part‑Time Telework Work Location: Clay, NY Salary Range: 105,000 - 160,200 annually (salary range is based on market data; final salary offered is determined by education, experience, and qualifications of the applicant.) Job Summary In this role, you will conduct field investigations and client interviews to determine work scope and cost estimates for a project's civil/structural aspects. You will lead design, development, modification, evaluation, and constructability reviews of civil/structural components and processes. Your technical expertise will ensure the unique and complex requirements of a project's civil/structural aspects are met. This position is designated as part‑time telework and requires at least three days of in‑person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Major Responsibilities Plans, schedules, conducts, or coordinates detailed phases of the civil/structural engineering work for a global business unit, a project or staff group to include the preparation of original designs, layouts, details, drawings and specifications for structures, building, roadways, railroads, etc. Designs, develops, modifies, and evaluates Civil/Structural components and processes utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs) and Design Control Checklist (DCCL) and Design Review Notices (DRNs) Designs structures using advanced knowledge of structural analysis, including statics, dynamics, and materials engineering Determines the appropriate use of various structural elements such as steel, wood, masonry, and concrete to ensure appropriate material is used based on load or stress requirements Originates and checks complex structural engineering deliverables, such as steel and concrete calculations, specifications, and material requisitions Analyzes problems with conflicting design requirements, sketches ideas and possible solutions Analyzes and reports on the suitability of unconventional materials, techniques and/or difficult coordination requirements Plans, coordinates, or prepares equipment, work and material specifications, bid evaluations and award recommendations Prepares procurement and subcontract requisition documents and performs associated technical bid evaluations with award recommendations Provides assistance to project and construction management in identifying and complying with project Civil/Structural requirements and in addressing issues as they arise during project execution Education and Experience Requirements Requires a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience Required Knowledge and Skills Career‑level position within field Considered highly skilled and proficient in discipline Seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of area of specialization, resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways Benefits At Bechtel, our employees enjoy a competitive total rewards package that includes comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans, optional disability and supplemental insurance options, generous paid time off (160 hours annually, accrued 6.16 hours per pay period), nine paid holidays, paid parental leave, discretionary bonuses, and a well‑designed 401K plan with matching and profit‑sharing components.
