The Sr. GSM serves as the key internal interface with Engineering, Finance, Logistics, Quality and Manufacturing to deliver world class products on time in a cost effective manner. The successful candidate will help establish our global supply chain strategy, support cross-functional teams during the development and industrialization phases and drive sound business decisions throughout the product life cycle.Key Responsibilities and Skills:Supplier Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective stamping, extrusion, casting, thermal control, and adhesive supply partnersManage on-going communication channels to ensure alignment on supplier performance, expectations, and improvementsAddress any issues or concerns promptly to ensure continuity of supplySupplier Performance Evaluation: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure supplier performance, such as quality, delivery reliability, and cost-effectivenessRegularly evaluate supplier performance against set KPIs and rapidly initiate corrective actionsContract Negotiation and Management: Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions aimed at creating maximum value for LucidReview and revise contracts as necessary to adapt to changing relationship dynamics, business needs or market conditionsMonitor contract compliance and address any deviations or discrepancies in collaboration with relevant stakeholdersInventory and Demand Planning: Work closely with demand planning teams to accurately forecast demand for cylindrical battery cell requirementsImplement inventory optimization strategies and collaborate with suppliers to ensure adequate inventory levels to meet demand while minimizing excess inventoryRisk Management: Identify and sprint to mitigate any potential risks within the supply chain, including supply disruptions, quality issues, or geopolitical issuesCollaborate with Finance to continually survey and monitor if the supply base is financially stable and solventCreate commodity strategies to enable swift actions if urgent resourcing is necessaryNegotiation and Cost Management: Negotiate commercial terms with key suppliers to drive maximum value for LucidAnalyze supplier costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction or efficiency improvements; lead the negotiations and drive resultsTrack and report cost savings initiatives and their impact on the overall supply chain budget and vehicle BOM costCross-Functional Collaboration: Lead the cross-functional team from the commercial perspective, ensuring Engineering, Program Management, Quality, Material Planning, and Production are aligned to the overall commodity strategyLead and participate in regular meetings with project teams to address issues, share updates, and drive collective goals and objectivesTravel:10-20% to visit suppliers to address critical supply issues and perform business and program reviewsCore Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or EngineeringProven experience with complex analysis, consulting, supply chain, and data analyticsImpeccable visual presentation, interpersonal and communication skillsDemonstrated experience working independently with excellent judgement as to when stakeholders should be engaged to drive resultsAbility to navigate numerous competing priorities and triage priorities according to business needsStrong interpersonal skills, with a team-first mindset that creates a vibrant, cohesive environment to help resolve problems, cascade best practices and deliver optimal resultsExcellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Hourly/non-exempt employees accrue up to 120 hours paid time off, and salaried/exempt employee accrue up to 160 hours paid time off. Eligible employees may also participate in Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual cash incentive program. Incentive and equity awards, if applicable, are determined based on individual performance, role scope, market considerations, and overall company results, in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans.
