About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Critical Care Float Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Must have 3 years of critical care experience. Recent ICU experience within the last year is required. License: Active nursing license is required. Certifications: BLS and ACLS certifications are required. TNCC certification is preferred. Must-Have: Strong ICU experience is required. Candidates must float to all critical care units. Proficiency in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias is required. Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Critical Care Float specialty. The nurse will float to various critical care units as needed. The schedule consists of three 12-hour night shifts. Holiday requests for time off have restrictions, including working two of three holidays. Candidates must submit time-off requests prior to application submission. References must be from a direct supervisor, not a charge nurse. Weekend shifts are required every other weekend. Additional specific skills required include the management of ventilators, IV insertion, telemetry, and conscious sedation. Preferred skills involve ICP and PA Lines management. The role requires experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center. Daily patient ratios are typically 1:1-2 for critical care, and 1:4 for observation holding. The nurse will provide care to adults and geriatric patients. Floating is expected to include all critical care units, including MICU, Burn ICU, Neuro ICU, Trauma ICU, and CVICU. The nurse will accompany patients to procedures with cardiac monitoring as necessary. Interdisciplinary support is part of the care team. Candidates need to demonstrate competency in various advanced nursing skills. ICU experience within the last year is vital for consideration. This position does not accept first-time travelers.
