If coordinating crews, dialing in grade tolerances, and keeping schedules on track sound like your strengths, this role is for you. We’re seeking a Sitework Grade Control Foreman who excels at planning earthwork, guiding people, and delivering quality every day.

What you will do

• Lead a crew (minimum two direct employees) plus subcontractors; set daily schedules, assignments, and attendance.
• Direct rough and fine grading to meet plan specifications; plan cuts/fills, optimize haul routes, and maintain haul roads.
• Collaborate with inspectors to ensure fills and grades meet project requirements.
• Provide onboarding, training, coaching, performance feedback, and make employment-related recommendations (promotions, transfers, separations).
• Enforce safety and quality expectations; conduct/oversee safety orientations and indoctrination with ongoing coaching.
• Supervise equipment usage and ensure adequate resources are on site.
• Track and report production quantities; monitor progress daily and validate crew hours for payroll.
• Assist the Superintendent with progress and safety reporting; prepare accurate time-and-materials reports.
• Handle other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or Management Team.

What you need to succeed

• Proven background running heavy equipment on dirt and site projects.
• Expertise in excavation, grading, surveying, and final excavation; experience with Bulk Dirt Grading, Excavation, and Large Excavation/Fine Grading.
• Comfort teaching others to operate equipment safely and productively.
• Fluency in reading and interpreting plans and specifications.
• Grade checking competence using GPS, rotating lasers, stakes, and cut sheets; solid understanding of GPS-based grading.
• Working knowledge of DOT standards and regulations.
• Clear, effective communication with crews and subcontractors.
• Basic computer skills required; Microsoft Office experience preferred.
• Must be 18+ with a valid driver’s license; High School Diploma strongly preferred.
• 3+ years in a construction supervisory role preferred; 5+ years heavy civil experience.
• Ability to work overtime and flexible day/night shifts, in all weather conditions.
• Physically able to climb, lift, balance, walk, stoop, and handle materials; able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Willing to operate equipment or perform ground work to meet productivity goals.
• Detail-focused and committed to safe operations.
