Role Overview

The Director, Procurement strengthens the procurement function by bridging operational execution and strategic procurement initiatives. They help ensure reliable sourcing, mitigate supplier risks, and support the company’s growth by enabling efficient, transparent, and cost‑effective procurement operations.

The Director, Procurement drives results for the company’s global procurement and supply chain function by managing complex sourcing activities, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring procurement processes are executed efficiently and in alignment with company policies.

This role serves as a key liaison between Procurement, Legal, Project Management, Development, Design, Construction, and Operations teams, helping ensure timely, cost‑effective, and risk‑aware procurement for data‑center project delivery. The Director, Procurement also leads execution to continuous improvement efforts.

How You’ll Contribute

• Advanced Procurement Leadership & Execution — Lead and execute procurement tasks, including purchase requisitions, purchase orders, supplier onboarding, and documentation management. Ensure alignment with established procurement policies, workflows, and ERP/Finance systems.Lead mid‑complexity sourcing events, prepare RFPs, analyze bids, negotiate pricing and terms within delegated authority, and recommend award decisions to senior procurement staff.
• Supplier Coordination — Communicate with suppliers to request proposals, clarify requirements, track order status, and escalate issues to senior team members when needed.
• Supplier Relationship Management — Maintain regular communication with suppliers, monitor performance, track risks, and escalate issues related to delivery, capacity, or compliance.
• Cross‑Functional Project Support — Partner with Project Management and technical teams to clarify requirements, resolve procurement‑related challenges, and ensure alignment with project schedules.
• Contract & Documentation Coordination — Prepare contract packages, coordinate with Legal on redlines, ensure documentation accuracy, and maintain audit‑ready records in ERP and procurement systems.
• Data, Reporting & Systems Management — Maintain procurement data integrity, support spend analysis, track KPIs, and contribute to reporting for leadership.
• Risk Monitoring & Issue Escalation — Track supplier performance, identify supplier risks, material availability concerns, and cost fluctuations; escalate to Procurement Managers or the VP as appropriate.
• Process Improvement & Standardization — Follow standardized procurement workflows and recommend enhancements to workflows, templates, and tools; support implementation of standardized procurement practices across the organization.
• Team Support & Learning — Participate in training, support senior team members, and build foundational procurement knowledge. Engage in continuous learning to develop into a high‑performing procurement professional.

Requirements

·         Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, defined as progressive roles in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management, with at least 5 years focused on capital projects in data centers, construction, energy, or critical infrastructure.

·         Minimum of 5 years managing procurement professionals, including direct oversight of a team.

·         Demonstrated experience leading sourcing events and negotiating contracts for long‑lead equipment such as electrical, mechanical, or cooling systems.

·         Minimum of 3 years of hands‑on experience with an ERP system, with SAP preferred.

·         Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field. A master's degree or professional certification (such as CIPS, CPSM, or CPM) is preferred.

·         Demonstrated experience leveraging AI-enabled tools and modern technologies to improve productivity, communication, decision-making, and operational execution
