Azure DevOps EngineerContract | Inside IR35 | 380 per dayLocation: Remote, with 1 day per month in EITHER Newcastle or LeedsThe OpportunityWe’re looking for an experienced Azure DevOps Engineer to support one of our central governnent clients Azure Data Platform team, helping to build, automate, enhance and support cloud-native platforms and DevOps capabilities across a complex Azure estate.The RoleAs an Azure DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing and supporting cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines and platform automation across Microsoft’s Azure Data Platform.You’ll work closely with engineering and delivery teams to build resilient, scalable and highly available solutions while promoting DevOps best practices and an automation-first mindset.Key responsibilities include:Designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and DevOps toolchains.Building and automating Azure-based infrastructure and platform services.Supporting Azure Data Platform services across multiple environments.Working with product and engineering teams to gather requirements and implement technical solutions.Developing Infrastructure as Code and Configuration as Code solutions.Provisioning environments and supporting operational issues.Driving engineering best practice, automation and platform improvements.Supporting proof of concepts, innovation projects and continuous improvement initiatives.Mentoring and supporting engineers within Agile delivery teams.Essential Skills & ExperienceAzure Data Platform (Essential)Candidates must demonstrate hands-on experience (minimum SFIA Level 4 equivalent) across:Azure Data Factory (ADF)Azure Synapse AnalyticsAzure Data LakeAzure & DevOpsStrong experience supporting and developing Azure cloud-based platforms and applications.Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.Azure DevOps, GitLab or similar DevOps tooling experience.Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Configuration as Code experience.Strong Terraform experience.Scripting & Operating SystemsExperience working within Linux, Unix and Windows environments.Strong scripting experience using PowerShell, Bash or similar.Experience supporting and automating cloud infrastructure.Monitoring & ObservabilityExperience implementing and maintaining monitoring and alerting solutions.Experience with tools such as:PrometheusGrafanaAzure MonitorLog AnalyticsAgile & DevOps DeliveryProven experience working within Agile DevOps environments.Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment experience.Experience working across Scrum and/or Kanban delivery teams.Leadership & CollaborationAbility to work independently on complex technical issues.Experience supporting, mentoring and guiding engineering teams.Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.Demonstrable ownership and accountability for technical delivery.
