Manufacturing Engineering Manager

Job Summary The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will lead the Manufacturing Engineering team, ensuring optimal performance of manufacturing operations while achieving the highest level of safety, quality, and productivity in a world‑class facility. The position manages projects from concept through production implementation, develops and implements manufacturing best practices, and works closely with Operations on plant strategy. Job Responsibilities Develop and implement best manufacturing practices (sheet metal fabrication, welding, quality improvement, assembly). Collaborate with Design Engineering to introduce new products and improve manufacturability (DFM). Manage equipment acquisition projects and plant expansion. Lead continuous improvement process activities to improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost. Oversee maintenance and development of manufacturing routings for standard costs. Provide input on design and fabrication of weld and assembly fixtures to enable repeatability and ease of assembly. Support operations management in resolving production and quality problems via root cause analysis. Generate project status reports and reviews with the Director of Operations. Implement Total Productive Maintenance to increase equipment availability. Optimize facility layout, line balancing, and process flow for production efficiency. Coordinate new product introductions, ensuring tooling and documentation are ready. Identify and implement methods to achieve operational improvements in efficiency, quality, delivery, and operating profits. Apply engineering principles in design, modification, and development of facilities, testing, equipment, or processes. Provide recommendations concerning manufacturing techniques, materials, and process limitations. Evaluate work processes to determine strategies for greater productivity and efficiency. Analyze product or equipment specifications to determine manufacturing processes and methods. Assess feasibility of purchasing new plant equipment or modifying existing equipment. Research equipment and make capital purchase recommendations. Prepare CERs with justifications for purchase of capital equipment. Maintain knowledge of safety policies and OSHA regulations. Job Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related engineering discipline. Five years or more demonstrated successes in a manufacturing setting, preferably HVAC‑focused. Experience with Lean principles (Gemba, 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping). Strong mathematical, analytical, and computer skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient reading and evaluating mechanical drawings and technical specifications. Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, AutoCAD. Master’s degree in engineering or business (preferred). LEAN/ Six Sigma certification (preferred).
