Details for Payroll Specialist position:

• $25-30/ Hour
• Monday - Friday |8 a.m.- 4 p.m.
• Full-Time | Long-Term Temporary (Until End of the Year)

Job Duties for Payroll Specialist :

• Process and manage full-cycle payroll for all Kentucky employees and 30 corporate employees in Las Vegas
• Serve as acting payroll lead while covering for manager on maternity leave
• Experience in multi company processing using the UKG payroll system for accurate data entry, audits, and reporting
• Review and validate payroll data including hours worked, bonuses, and deductions
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations
• Handle payroll discrepancies and resolve employee inquiries in a timely manner
• Coordinate with HR and finance teams to ensure accurate employee records and payroll changes
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive payroll and employee information
• Prepare payroll reports for leadership and assist with audits as needed
• Monitor payroll deadlines and ensure timely processing and distribution
• Support process improvements and maintain organized payroll documentation
• Demonstrate leadership-level decision making and problem solving without direct supervisory responsibilities
• Follow all policies and safety procedures in place
• Completes any other related tasks as needed

Qualifications and Desired Skills for Payroll Specialist :

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Accounting or related field preferred
• Previous payroll experience required with preference for multi-location payroll processing
• Hands-on experience using UKG payroll and workforce management systems required
• Strong knowledge of payroll procedures, timekeeping practices, and compliance regulations
• Ability to handle confidential payroll and employee information with discretion and professionalism
• Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
• Effective communication skills with the ability to resolve payroll-related issues
• Strong problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Professional demeanor with leadership presence and managerial-level judgment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office with advanced skills in Excel preferred
• Experience supporting both corporate and field-based employees preferred
