POSITION OVERVIEW

The ideal candidate will have substantial experience handling Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 matters, including complex restructurings, workouts, and distressed financial matters for a diverse client base across multiple industries. The role offers meaningful client interaction, hands-on litigation experience, and the opportunity to work closely with sophisticated business clients in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Represent clients in Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings, including complex restructuring and insolvency matters
• Advise secured creditors, unsecured creditors, trustees, committees, debtors, and other stakeholders in distressed situations
• Handle workouts, restructurings, and asset protection strategies for business clients across a variety of industries
• Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, proofs of claim, and other bankruptcy-related filings
• Assist with case strategy, legal research, briefing, courtroom support, and hearing preparation
• Attend creditor meetings, court hearings, and other bankruptcy proceedings
• Communicate directly with Bankruptcy Courts, Trustees, local counsel, opposing counsel, and clients regarding active matters
• Review financial and corporate records to advise clients on risk exposure and restructuring options
• Manage matters independently while collaborating closely with attorneys across the practice group
• Support client development initiatives and help maintain and expand professional referral relationships

QUALIFICATIONS

• Licensed and in good standing to practice law in Texas
• Minimum of 5 years of Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 bankruptcy experience
• Experience handling complex Chapter 11 matters, workouts, and restructuring transactions
• Strong drafting, research, analytical, and courtroom advocacy skills
• Ability to manage multiple matters in a deadline-driven environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a client-service-oriented approach
• Excellent academic credentials and professional references preferred
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
• Business development interest or experience is a plus
