Description Veterinary Technician – Ophthalmology Far West: 3908a Far West Blvd, Ste A, Austin, Texas 78731Part-time: Tuesday (8am-5pm), Wednesday, and Fridays (8:45am-5pm). Some Mondays are required based on hospital needs.About You You’ll play an important role in pets’ lives by providing end-to-end care for our precious patients. Your life-changing work will range from the hands-on care of facilitating outpatient treatments and performing laboratory tests, to support services including intake and discharging patients. The success of your patients’ care matters to you, and your success matters to us.Job Overview:The Veterinary Technician is responsible for a variety of tasks related to customer service and patient care within the veterinary practice. Tasks include animal handling, pre, and post-operative patient care, creating and presenting financial options and estimates, accurately entering service charges into the client database, extensive client interaction, and preparing medications. Other qualifications include:Previous veterinary technician experience requiredLicensed Technician preferred, but not requiredProficient in IV catheters placement, blood work, and IV, IM, and SQ injectionsProficient in monitoring anesthesia and working with various monitoring equipmentTeam playerEager to learn and is self-motivatedEnjoys a challenging and fast-paced environmentExcellent verbal and written communication skillsProficient computer skills (email, uploading/downloading files, typing, etc.)Ability to multi-task You’ll Grow with Us Here, you can grow your career as best fits you through access to comprehensive learning and skillset programs.
