Current Representative investments include Ace Hardware, JPB Home Services, Ticknors Men’s Clothiers, and Marathon Live.

 

Responsibilities and Duties:   The role offers broad exposure across investment sourcing, financial analysis and forecasting, transaction execution, portfolio company support, and investment committee reporting. Key responsibilities include:

Transaction Evaluation and Execution

  • Creating financial models with scenarios involving different investment, capital structure, and acquisition assumptions.
  • Conducting financial, industry, and company due diligence.
  • Identifying potential investment theses and conducting industry research to validate / test theses.
  •  Developing materials that present the deal team’s thesis to the JPB PE team and investment committee.

Portfolio Company Support

  • Assisting in portfolio company performance monitoring and financing activities, including in support of add-on acquisition strategies.
  • Supporting strategic initiatives at portfolio companies.

Remote work is not available for this position. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

  • Bachelor’s degree, required;
  • 2 to 5 years investment banking, credit, or private equity experience
  • Top performer in the following areas: qualitative and quantitative analytical skills, finance, business judgement, and attention to detail
  • Excellent professional and academic track record 
  • Strong analytical skills, including knowledge of valuation methodologies
  • Self-motivated with high degree of intellectual curiosity, proactive mentality and desire to work in an unstructured, entrepreneurial environment
  • Travel for new investment opportunities or portfolio company support
  • Ability to operate with limited supervision
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Dedicated team player with a strong sense of ownership
  • Very strong written and oral communication skills
  • High level of integrity with strong references
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel ; working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Full understanding of all three financial statements (profit and loss, balance sheet, statement of cash flows)
  • Experience preparing detailed financial models and company business valuations including experience forecasting balance sheets, statements of cash flow, and statements of profit and loss, including the linking of all three statements in one dynamic model
