Neuro ICU Registered Nurse (Intensive Care Unit) Lynchburg, VA
The organization is seeking a Neuro ICU Registered Nurse to provide care in a Neuro Intensive Care Unit setting on 12-hour night shifts. Responsibilities include delivering nursing care for surgical and medical neuro diagnoses and supporting an educational environment where students and new hires are commonly encountered. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details

• Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts; minimum 36.0 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Registered Nurse licensure; Basic Life Support (BLS); Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) experience; COVID-19 and influenza vaccination or approved declination; Minimum 23 years of clinical experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Prior travel experience; teaching hospital experience.
• Additional Information:
  • Charge responsibility may be required, and appropriate training is provided.
  • Expected weekends include 23 per month based on unit need.
  • Travelers may be required to float to other assignments.
  • The unit uses equipment including vital signs monitoring devices, glucometers, sequential compression devices (SCDs), bladder scanners, vein finders, remote tele capability, wound vacs, IV pumps, pulse oximeters, chest tubes, tube feeding pumps (Kangaroo), and oxygen delivery devices.
  • The assignment may be subject to cancellation of up to 3 shifts per assignment due to census.
  • Orientation occurs on an every-other-Monday schedule; start dates listed include 07/13/2026 with additional dates of 07/27/2026.
