Working Schedule: Full-time; Variable work hours based upon department needs; weekends, evenings and travel may be required. Generally Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.

Position Purpose: The Assistant Registrar supports the Registrar by providing operational leadership for the college's student records, registration, degree and transcript evaluation, academic scheduling, and enrollment reporting functions. The position is responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy, security, and compliance of student academic records in accordance with institutional policies, accreditation standards, and federal and state regulations.

Supervision Statement: The Assistant Registrar reports directly to the Associate Vice President (AVP) of Enrollment Management and Services/Registrar. The AVP provides overall strategic direction, establishes priorities, and evaluates incumbent performance.

Physical Demands/Working Environment: This position works indoors and is exposed to usual office working conditions that include office noises and interruptions, such as printers, telephones, and visitors. This position requires that an employee is able to sit or stand for extended periods of time; perform cognitive and psychometric work for more than six (6) hours a day. This position may work with individuals who may be in crisis, have difficulty tracking, or in need of mental health support. Work may require transporting materials up to five (60) pounds. Knowledge Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of principles, practices, and regulations governing student records administration, registration, degree and transcript evaluation, graduation certification, and academic scheduling in higher education. Ability to interpret and apply complex laws, regulations, institutional policies, and academic procedures while exercising sound judgment and maintaining confidentiality. Plan, organize, prioritize, and coordinate multiple operational functions while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely completion of work. Supervise, coach, develop, and evaluate staff; establish performance expectations; foster accountability; and promote a collaborative, student-centered work environment. Understand and support Banner Student business processes, evaluate the operational impacts of system changes, participate in testing and implementation activities, and collaborate with Information Technology to maintain effective student records, registration, degree evaluation, and scheduling operations. Analyze data, identify process improvements, develop effective solutions, and implement changes that enhance efficiency, compliance, and service delivery. Collaborate effectively with faculty, administrators, Information Technology, Financial Aid, Institutional Research, Academic Affairs, and other college partners to resolve operational issues. Communicate effectively to diverse audiences, both orally and in writing, including explaining complex policies and technical information. Maintain accuracy and attention to detail while managing sensitive information in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment.
