Position Highlights Annual ED Volume: ~12,000–13,000 visits Admission Rate: ~7% Transfer Rate: ~4–5% Transfers primarily to University of Kentucky (ortho, stroke, higher acuity) Coverage: 24 hours of physician coverage (12-hour shifts) Experienced nursing team with 15 years of tenure ED Beds: 9 EMR: Epic 1099 Independent Contractor Model FT, PT & PRN options Practice Environment Low-to-moderate acuity with consistent, manageable volume Strong nursing support and engaged local leadership Efficient workflows with minimal boarding Full-scope community EM without high burnout Qualifications BE/BC (EM, IM, FM, or GS) Kentucky license (or ability to obtain) Community ED experience preferred Comfortable working independently in a lower-volume setting About the Community Mount Vernon, Kentucky is a welcoming small town in the foothills of southeastern Kentucky, about one hour south of Lexington along I‑75.
