Registered Nurse - Adolescent Psychiatric Emergency Services

Location: Bronx, NY

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, every other weekend, with holiday rotation as required.

Job Description: Join a dedicated team providing compassionate care to adolescents with severe mental illnesses and behavioral issues in a fast-paced environment. As a Registered Nurse, you will be instrumental in assessing, treating, and supporting patients facing various psychological challenges.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of patients presenting with psychiatric emergencies.
• Provide nursing care including medication administration (IM and PO medications).
• Utilize de-escalation skills to manage crisis situations effectively.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure patient safety and quality care.
• Perform triage and fast-track patient processing in emergency settings.
• Monitor and document patient conditions accurately and in a timely manner.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must have at least 1 year of psychiatric nursing experience.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
• Additional required training includes one of the following: Handle with Care, TRUST Training, CPI, PMCS, or MOAB.
• Experience with de-escalation techniques and patient restraint is preferred.
