Schedule:

12-hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15), 36 hours per week, every other weekend required

Highlights:

- Comprehensive Stroke Center specializing in ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, craniotomies, carotid procedures, aneurysm management, and neurosurgical post-op care- Patient ratios typically 2:1, with flexibility to 3:1 during high census periods; average daily census 11-12 patients- Advanced neuro equipment including EVDs, lumbar drains, Camino ICP monitoring, LICOX, NICOM, and Arctic Sun- Epic charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy- Contract lengths from 13 weeks through February 2027 available- 24-hour orientation period (2 shifts) with experienced preceptors

Requirements:

- Minimum 2 years of dedicated Neuro ICU experience required (general ICU does not qualify)- Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered- Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state)- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale- Must pass EKG competency testing prior to start date- Strong clinical skills in ventilator management, IV starts, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, blood product administration, central line care, continuous IV sedation, CVA/acute stroke management, EVD/lumbar drain management, ICP monitoring, and post-neurosurgery care- Willingness to float as needed within the facility- Open to working with patient ratios up to 3:1 during peak census periods

Preferred Qualifications:

- Arterial line management experience- Experience with traumatic brain injury and spinal cord injury patients
