Operating Room Registered Nurse

Location Juneau, AK

Assignment Duration This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule Full-time, 410-hour shifts, Tuesday to Friday. On call required.

Job Description The Operating Room Registered Nurse will be responsible for managing a variety of elective and emergency surgical cases within an operating room setting. The nurse will ensure timely and efficient progression of surgical cases throughout the day and will utilize after-hour call services for staffing the OR during nights, holidays, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and circulation of surgical cases.
• Collaborate effectively with surgical teams to ensure patient safety and quality care.
• Handle various types of surgical specialties including abdominal, thoracic, urology, ENT, plastic, orthopedics, vascular, and OB/GYN.
• Manage surgical instruments and maintain sterile environment.
• Respond to after-hours calls as needed to support operational needs.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the State of Alaska.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (BSN, Associate Degree in Nursing, or Nursing Diploma).
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in the Operating Room.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• Experience in Critical Access Hospital and/or Rural Operating Rooms is strongly preferred.
