Respiratory Therapist

The Respiratory Therapist plays a vital role in delivering cardiopulmonary services within healthcare settings. This position requires adherence to protocols approved by medical staff and departmental policies to provide timely diagnostic and therapeutic services to both inpatients and outpatients.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist physicians in both invasive and non-invasive procedures.
• Deliver medicated aerosols using medical compressed gas.
• Maintain airways and manage ventilators effectively.
• Perform arterial line insertions and intubations.
• Conduct pulmonary function studies.
• Administer cardiac and pulmonary stress tests.
• Evaluate blood gases.

Qualifications

• Registered or Certified by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• A minimum of 2 years recent experience in respiratory therapy.
• Experience working with pediatric and obstetric patients.
• Current state respiratory therapy license.
• Certifications including ACLS, BLS, NRP, and PALS (must be current and from the American Heart Association).

Preferred Experience

• Documented experience in a community healthcare setting.
• Available for night shifts and adaptable to changing environments.
