U1 Senior Corporate Accountant

The successful candidate will play a critical role in overseeing the month-end close process, preparing and analyzing financial reports, stock-based compensation, ERP implementations, and ensuring compliance with accounting policies. This position requires a strong understanding of GAAP, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Improve processes impacting the accounting month-end and year-end close processAssist in developing and implementing robust internal accounting controlsPrepare and record general ledger entriesPerform monthly balance sheet account reconciliationsOwn the accounting for assigned areas including but not limited to cash, prepaid, and accrualPrepare monthly flux analyses, corporate department reports and other reporting as neededAssist in review of fixed assets in accordance with the capitalization policyDevelop, implement and maintain accounting policies in accordance with GAAP.Prepare supporting files and documentation for SEC filings, including 10-Qs and 10-KsCoordinate the annual external audit and quarterly reviews by providing documentation, explanations and support as neededAssist in budgeting and forecasting processes as neededSupport management in the implementation of transformation efforts and continuous accounting system improvements Collaborate across departments and business partners such as IT, SEC reporting, FP&A, shared services and tax, regarding corporate accounting tasksSupport the Assistant Controller and senior management with special projects and strategic initiativesOther duties as assignedKNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:Strong knowledge of GAAP and SOX complianceProven experience with ERP systems; experience with system implementations or upgrades is a plusAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis toolsExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skillsStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a team environmentCoStar and/or LeaseQuery experience a plusSubmit to a criminal background checkLegal right to work in the United StatesComplies with Network and Urban One’s mandatory training and adheres to related course deadlinesTravel to remote Radio One locations may be required
