About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Stepdown Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: PCU experience Description: We are seeking a registered nurse for a stepdown unit. The shift will be from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM. There is a possibility to flex to day shifts. Every other weekend is required. The nurse will be the first to float to other facilities as needed. Traveling nurses will be required to float to multiple locations. The unit consists of 24 beds. Patient-to-nurse ratios are 1:3-4. Common diagnoses include pneumonia, ARDS, Covid-19 infections, hypertension urgency, angina, cardiac catheterization patients, and alcohol withdrawal. RNs are required to titrate drips. Common titratable and set rate drips include Amiodarone, Diltiazem, Dopamine, Nitroglycerin, Lasix, and Dobutamine. Charge nurses and house supervisors are available 24/7. Nurse aides are present on the unit with a 1:10 ratio. Respiratory equipment available includes CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen. Remote monitor technicians are available with RN approval. Floating to other departments is required. Holiday coverage is mandatory for 2 winter holidays. Standby may be required if extra staff is available.
