Data Center Technician (HVAC / Critical Facilities) | Sterling, VA and Warrenton, VA | Onsite

Innovien is supporting mission-critical facility operations where downtime is not an option. We're hiring six Data Center Technicians to keep cooling and mechanical systems running across two Northern Virginia sites. This is hands-on critical environment work with a defined path to full-time conversion.

What You'll Do

• Operate, monitor, and maintain critical HVAC and mechanical systems: CRAC/CRAH units, AHUs, DX systems, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, humidification, economizers, leak detection, and related controls
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, daily rounds, assigned work orders, and approved emergency repairs without impact to the critical load
• Use BAS/BMS, CMMS, and site monitoring tools to track alarms, environmental conditions, equipment status, trends, and maintenance documentation
• Troubleshoot HVAC, mechanical, and controls issues, escalating abnormal conditions or work outside approved procedures to senior technicians and site leadership
• Execute MOPs, SOPs, EOPs, LOTO, permit-to-work, and change control with strict procedural discipline

What You Bring

• 10+ years on commercial or industrial HVAC systems with strong troubleshooting skills
• Experience in critical environments (data centers, hospitals, telecom, utilities, clean rooms, manufacturing)
• Hands-on with cooling units (CRAC/CRAH, AHUs, DX systems), chillers, cooling towers, pumps, motors, and building automation systems
• Comfortable troubleshooting with hand tools, meters, test gear, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals
• Working knowledge of critical facility procedures: MOPs, SOPs, EOPs, preventive maintenance, LOTO, SDS, work order documentation
• EPA 608 Certification
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship

Nice to Have

• OEM platform experience: AAON, Liebert/Vertiv, Stulz, Trane, Carrier, York/JCI, Daikin, Mitsubishi VRF, Bosch WSHP, or similar
• BAS/BMS/DDC depth: alarm response, trending, control sequences, sensor validation, approved setpoint changes

Details

• Onsite: Sterling, VA (2 openings) and Warrenton, VA (2 openings)
• Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 4:00pm, with occasional weekend coverage as needed
• W2 employment with Innovien Solutions, upon conversion: 2 weeks vacation, 2 weeks sick leave, 11 paid holidays, 5% 401(k) match
