Radiologic Technologist

Hartford Healthcare is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team within our leading not-for-profit healthcare system serving communities across Connecticut. In this role, you will perform high-quality diagnostic radiographic examinations to support accurate diagnosis and treatment while delivering compassionate, patient-centered care. Working closely with radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, you will prepare and position patients, operate imaging equipment, follow physician orders, and ensure that images meet established quality and safety standards. You will verify patient identification, review medical histories relevant to the exam, explain procedures to reduce anxiety, and maintain strict adherence to radiation safety principles for patients, colleagues, and yourself. Responsibilities Setting up and operating radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment. Adjusting technical factors to obtain optimal images. Assessing image quality and repeating views as necessary. Documenting procedures accurately in the electronic medical record. Assisting with contrast studies as directed. Monitoring patients during and after procedures. Responding appropriately to changes in patient condition. Maintaining infection control protocols, cleaning and stocking exam rooms, and maintaining equipment in proper working order by performing basic troubleshooting and reporting service needs. Contributing to workflow efficiency by managing exam schedules, prioritizing urgent and STAT requests, and collaborating with team members to minimize patient wait times.
