Position Summary The PIC Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all warehouse, shipping, receiving, and material handling operations to ensure safe, efficient, and accurate movement of materials and finished goods. This role ensures on‑time customer delivery, accurate inventory control, and compliance with safety and quality standards while building and leading a high‑performing team. Duties and Responsibilities Warehouse & Material Handling Operations Ensure orderly production and distribution of products by pulling orders from inventory, delivering materials to production areas, and staging finished goods for final distribution. Maintain an organized, clean, and safe warehouse and materials storage environment. Locate, verify, and issue materials and supplies listed on production orders using SAP. Maintain in‑process inventory at work centers by delivering and opening materials and supplies as required. Ensure proper storage, identification, and labeling of materials and inventory. Operate lift trucks and other material handling equipment as needed. Inventory Management & Control Maintain accurate inventory records by identifying, labeling, and tracking material locations. Monitor inventory levels, perform cycle counts, and reconcile discrepancies with inventory systems and barcoding tools. Oversee receipt and verification of incoming inventory within 24 hours of arrival. Assist with periodic stock audits and report shortages or variances. Shipping & Receiving Manage the shipment of all products, materials, and supplies to ensure timely and accurate deliveries. Oversee preparation, documentation, packaging, and labeling of shipments, including UPS, FedEx, and other carriers. Ensure accurate loading and unloading of shipments. Track, monitor, and communicate shipment status to internal stakeholders. Address and resolve shipping‑related issues with internal teams and external partners. Ensure spare orders are pulled and shipped 100% on time. Logistics & Transportation Manage processes to determine the best mode of transportation and select carriers to meet on‑time delivery requirements. Collaborate with logistics, customer service, sales, and other departments to streamline shipping processes and improve service levels. Leadership & Team Development Train, mentor, supervise, and develop warehouse, shipping, and material handling team members. Build high‑performance teams and effective business structures. Conduct annual performance evaluations in coordination with the Mgr., Material & Logistics, and manage employee discipline and development. Initiate and promote positive methods to drive team performance, accountability, and metrics. Process Improvement & Safety Identify and implement process improvements to enhance shipping accuracy, efficiency, and overall warehouse performance. Participate in the development and implementation of warehousing procedures, including receiving, shipping, material movements, and inventory control. Enforce warehouse safety standards and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. Additional Responsibilities Provide hands‑on support for shipping, receiving, and material handling tasks as needed. Assist with additional tasks and projects as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a shipping/warehouse role within a manufacturing environment. Demonstrated ability to lead or supervise a team. Hands‑on experience with shipping processes and handling logistics carriers (UPS, FedEx, etc.). Experience operating lift trucks and other warehouse equipment (certification preferred). Familiarity with safety protocols and standards in a warehouse setting. Education, Skills, and Experience Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems strongly preferred. Ability to operate lift trucks and other material handling equipment. Strong organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills. Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Work Environment: This position operates primarily in a warehouse and manufacturing environment and requires regular presence on the production floor. The role involves a combination of standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, and light to moderate physical activity throughout the workday. Duties may include handling materials and products, operating material handling equipment, and working around moving equipment, noise, and varying temperatures typical of a manufacturing or warehouse setting.
