Your Role

We are seeking a dedicated and highly motivated Server Assistant to join our team at Charlie Gitto’s on the Hill. As a Server Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional service to our guests and helping servers ensure a smooth dining experience. The ideal candidate should have a passion for hospitality, possess excellent communication skills, and be a team player that works well in a fast-paced environment.

What You'll Do

-Table Preparation: Set up and maintain the cleanliness and appearance of tables, ensuring they are properly set with utensils, glassware, and other necessary items according to the restaurant's standards.

• Clearing and Resetting Tables: Clear tables promptly and efficiently, removing used dishes, glassware, and cutlery while ensuring minimal disruption to guests. Reset tables swiftly with clean tableware for the next seating.

• Assistance to Servers: Support the waitstaff by delivering beverages, bread, and other requested items to tables, ensuring timely and accurate service. Assist with carrying trays, as needed.

• Beverage Service: Refill water glasses and other non-alcoholic beverages as required, ensuring guests' needs are met in a timely manner. Assist with beverage preparation and garnishing.

• Maintaining Restaurant Cleanliness: Continuously monitor and maintain the cleanliness and organization of dining areas, including the bar and server stations. Regularly sweep and mop floors, clean spills, and ensure a tidy appearance.

• Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with the entire restaurant team to ensure smooth service flow, address guest requests promptly, and assist other staff members when needed.

• Guest Relations: Handle guest inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints in a courteous and efficient manner.

• Follow Health and Safety Regulations: Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper handling of glassware, utensils, and other service items, as well as following hygiene and cleanliness protocols.

What You'll Need

• Previous Experience: Prior experience as a server assistant, busser, or in a similar support role within a fine dining establishment is preferred.

• Knowledge of Fine Dining Service: Familiarity with fine dining etiquette, including table settings, tableside service, and beverage service is advantageous.

• Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal communication and listening skills to effectively interact with guests and colleagues.

• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, and carry heavy trays for extended periods in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to lift at least 40 lbs.

• Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure tables are properly set, cleared, and reset according to restaurant standards.

• Team Player: Eager to learn and ability to work well within a team, supporting colleagues and collaborating effectively to deliver exceptional service.

• Flexibility: Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as per the restaurant's scheduling requirements.

• Food Safety Knowledge: Familiarity with food safety regulations and practices, including proper handling of food, utensils, and cleaning procedures.
