Maintenance Technician

Pay Rate: $29.52 Career Path: New Hire $29.52 Level 1 $31.42 New hire with Associates degree or achieves qualification Level 2 $32.26 New hire with relevant Bachelor's degree or successful completion of additional subject matter expertise assessment (18-month tenure minimum in role) Level 3 $34.34 Successful completion of additional subject matter expertise panel assessment (3-year tenure minimum in role)

Description of Job Duties:

• Completes daily work assignments in line with all company procedures and safety policies while maintaining a safe work environment for all personnel.
• Maintains and promotes 5S in assigned work area and on the grounds
• Maintains maintenance equipment and tools in a safe working order
• Safely perform work outdoors during all type of weather conditions
• Follows lock-out/tag-out, confined spaced, hot work permits, and related safety policies
• Repairs, replaces, and maintains all plant equipment in good working condition, equipment such as valves, pumps, compressors, convey systems, chillers, etc.
• Performs equipment inspections and preventative maintenance (PM) activities as per oral and written instructions.
• Interpret single line diagrams, piping schematics, and mechanical drawings as needed.
• Troubleshoot and dismantle defective equipment and install new or repair equipment and/or parts.
• Request parts to be purchased to complete repair to Maintenance Supervisor/Lead or Manager.
• Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery throughout the plant.
• Fabricates equipment as required.
• Enter information on paper and/or electronic work order as required.
• Update CMMS or shared drive if directed to do so by Maintenance Supervisor/Lead or Manager.
• Stock warehouse parts inventory as directed by Maintenance Supervisor/Lead or Manager. This includes reviewing of packing slips, physically relocating inventory to warehouse shelving and identifying parts that may need re-ordering.
• Adheres to all quality policies and standards.
• Performs all other tasks as assigned.
• Member of the emergency response team, if required

Qualifications / Necessary Skills:

• Maintenance or Instrument / Electrical Associates degree is preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent with 2-years mechanical or instrument / electrical work experience required.
• Must be able to perform mathematical exercises of moderate complexity.
• Must display a strong mechanical and/or electrical aptitude.
• Working knowledge of MS Office suite.
• Must be able to ascend and descend multiple flights of stairs, lift 50lbs, stand on his/her feet for extended periods of time and be physically flexible including bending, rotating, and kneeling
• Must be able to wear required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as Level A suit, full face respirator, SCBA (Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus), safety glasses, steel toed shoes, Tyvek, hearing protection and gloves
• Must have the ability to work with a team in resolving problems together with the ability to develop effective working relationships with vendors, contractors, co-workers, managers and well as any other internal personnel.
• Capable of operating mobile equipment
