We are seeking an experienced Director of Electrical Engineering to lead the design, execution, and delivery of electrical engineering projects supporting transportation, transit, infrastructure, and commercial building initiatives. This leadership role is responsible for managing engineering teams, establishing technical standards, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering high-quality engineering solutions that meet client expectations.

The ideal candidate is a licensed Professional Engineer with extensive experience in electrical design, power systems, transportation infrastructure, and multidisciplinary project management. This is a remote leadership opportunity requiring strong technical expertise, strategic planning, and exceptional communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and oversee electrical engineering design and project delivery across transportation, transit, infrastructure, and building projects.

Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and professional development for electrical engineering staff.

Review and approve electrical design packages, calculations, specifications, and construction documents.

Develop and maintain engineering standards, quality assurance procedures, and best practices.

Coordinate with project managers, architects, structural, civil, mechanical, and other engineering disciplines to ensure successful project execution.

Oversee the design and analysis of electrical power systems, lighting systems, traction power, and related infrastructure.

Ensure compliance with applicable codes, industry standards, client requirements, and regulatory agency guidelines.

Manage project schedules, staffing, budgets, and resource allocation across multiple concurrent projects.

Support business development activities, including proposal preparation, project planning, and client presentations.

Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, public agencies, consultants, and project stakeholders.

Identify project risks and develop effective technical solutions to ensure successful project outcomes.

Promote a culture of safety, collaboration, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.

Professional Engineer (PE) license required or ability to obtain licensure in the applicable state.

Extensive experience in electrical engineering design for transportation, transit, infrastructure, or commercial building projects.

Strong knowledge of power systems, electrical distribution, lighting systems, traction power, and related electrical infrastructure.

Proven experience leading engineering teams and managing multidisciplinary projects.

Strong project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, resource planning, and quality control.

Familiarity with transportation agencies, public infrastructure projects, and applicable engineering standards and regulations.

Excellent leadership, communication, documentation, and client relationship management skills.

Ability to work independently in a remote environment while effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.

Experience working on transportation, transit, public infrastructure, or government-funded projects.

Knowledge of DOT, transit authority, and public agency design standards and requirements.

Demonstrated success in mentoring engineering teams and driving continuous process improvement.
