Unit staffing description- (unit secretaries and tech availability): No rehab aide. 23 PT staff members (PT/PTA mix) 13 are full-time/part-time. Types of equipment: Sara Stedys, mechanical Stryker stroke/cardiac chairs, powered bariatric stroke/cardiac chair, powered ARJO and Liko lifts, ARJO mobility device, walker, canes, wheelchairs, sliding boards, adaptive equipment for dressing and bathing provided to patients. Documentation system: EPIC Scheduling requirements: 2 full-time positions available. All shifts are 10 hours 70.40 hours. We are willing to adjust to 80 hours if needed. Start time for each shift is between 7am to 8:30am w/ the exception of mid and late day ortho shift see hours below*. Working mid and late day ortho shifts will be required with both positions. Schedules needed: (1) week one Sunday to Wednesday, week two Sunday to Tuesday (will work mid or late shift ortho every Monday and Tuesday). (1) week one Wednesday to Friday, week two Wednesday to Saturday (rotating late/mid shift). Mid shift work day schedule is: 9:30am-8pm, late shift: 10:30-9pm*. Floating policy: May be cross trained onto our acute rehab unit to help support the OT team on busy, low staffed days. Patient Experience requirements: Previous acute care experience recommended. ICU experience preferred. Hospital Specifics- Certifications: BLS up to date, MSPT, DPT degree from an accredited PT program, successful completion of NPTE. Utah state license to practice is required. Hiring profile Requested Skill Set: Must Have: Candidates need to have a good understanding of neuro, multi-trauma and medically complex diagnoses. Be able to complete a thorough chart review and have a good understanding of lab values, weight bearing precautions, etc. Candidate needs to be flexible, be able to demonstrate skill through good documentation, communicate well, have good time mgmt skills and be a team player. Advanced skills needed: Have a good understanding and previous use of mobility devices and lift systems. Understand the use and application of back braces, UE/LE positioning devices, hip/spine/cardiac precautions, etc. Utilize clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills to help advance patient through their continuum of care. Procedures performed on unit: neuro re-education, gait training, balance, wheelchair training, cognitive re-education, vestibular training, energy conservation, BUE/BLE ROM and strengthening, orthotic use and fit, home safety and family training. Certifications Required: BLS, Utah PT license Dress Code: (Required uniform) Gray scrub top and black scrub pants and closed toed shoes. Ok to wear gray business casual shirt and black pants. No shirts w/ logos, jeans, leggings or shorts. Unit Guidelines/Policies: Please attach unit specific policies and guidelines. Evals are to be seen or acknowledged within 24 hrs. of being ordered. Follow Rehab Priority Patient List copy given on your first day. Follow Dr. Grantz Stroke Protocol, copy given on your first day. Total Joint/TAVR ? SDS patients prepare patients for discharge to home. Most are seen on day of surgery. Shifts are generally 10 hours. When work is completed, check w/ other OTs to offer help w/ their caseloads. If work is completed, reach out to OT supervisor or Director to offer help with various department tasks such as redistributing equipment, cleaning gym, etc. If there is no help needed, staff are encouraged to clock out and go home. It is best practice to check in w/ RN before and after every patient interaction (treatment and evaluation), to check for appropriateness of services, report progress, patient concerns and their ongoing needs. All staff are required to wear their badge when on the clock. All staff who work 6 hours are required to have a 30-minute lunch.
