BARISTA (FULL TIME)

Position We are hiring immediately for full‑time BARISTA positions. Job Information Location: American International College Address: 1000 State Street, Springfield, MA 01109. Note: online applications accepted only Schedule: Full time; Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:00 pm. More details upon interview Requirement: Prior barista experience is preferred Pay Range: $16.50 per hour to $18.00 per hour Job Summary Make and serve coffee/espresso drinks and related food and beverage items. Handle food according to HACCP guidelines and standards for quality food‑service operations. Interact with customers and other employees in a friendly, courteous manner. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Prepare espresso orders for customers and catering using standard measures and recipes Enter orders accurately into POS device; accept cash and charge payments Replenish condiments, beverages and general supplies while maintaining cleanliness of service area Ensure proper presentation, portion control and maintenance of proper serving temperatures; follow HACCP standards Maintain sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies and utensils Ensure proper food preparation using approved recipes and following prescribed production standards Keep display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service Cleans equipment and workstation thoroughly before leaving the area for other assignments Greets customers courteously and interacts in a manner to ensure customer satisfaction; relay relevant concerns to supervisors Serve customers quickly and efficiently, preventing delays in serving lines Demonstrate a complete understanding of daily menu items and accurately explain them to customers Act as an advocate of selling techniques to the customer by establishing good communication and assisting in the buying decision‑making process Ensure all display foods are merchandised attractively per standards; serve food neatly and attractively per standard Perform other duties as assigned Benefits Opportunities for Training and Development Retirement Plan Associate Shopping Program Health and Wellness Programs Discount Marketplace Identity Theft Protection Pet Insurance Voluntary Benefits, including Critical Illness Insurance, Accident Insurance, Hospital Indemnity Insurance, Legal Services, and Choice Auto and Home Program Full‑time Benefits Medical Vision Life Insurance/AD Disability Insurance Employee Assistance Program Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) Our Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion Compass Group is an equal opportunity employer.
