Job Description Here at Gpac we are working with a wonderful nonprofit organization that is looking to fill their Program Director position . This will be a hybrid role in the Osage , IA area. The position would be assisting the elderlycommunity with financial struggles and employment opportunities. Overview: Under the direction of the Chief Program Officer, The Program Director is responsible for the overall management of the employment program assisting senior citizens in Osage , IA area. The Program Director is also responsible for representing the Organization's mission and all of their programs to the public. The Director is responsible for public speaking and attending community meetings. This position is an integral part of the Management Team of the organization. Responsibilities: • Supervise, recruit, and train up to six to ten program participant assistants located in Osage , IA area. • Manage various program timelines to ensure timely completion of program deliverables. • Promote visibility of older worker programs administered by the organization by developing and maintaining linkages with business groups, media representatives, and public and private agencies concerned weigh aging and human services. • Oversee the timely completion and accuracy of bi-weekly participant and staff payroll. • Recruit participants for all employment programs through development of written materials, publicity, public speaking, outreach and liaison with community agencies. • Plan and schedule participant meetings and training on the certification and re-certification of participants and how to develop an Independent Employment Plan every six months required for each participant. • Monitor program activities to ensure quality and accuracy of work outcomes of contractual and grant commitments. • Follow policies and guidelines established the Department of Labor, and National Council on Aging. • Responsible for required non-federal contribution reporting, the maintenance of time and payroll records, and the distribution of payroll statements to participants. • Develop appropriate worksites for on-the-job training; assist in locating, and the planning and coordination of vocational training for participants. • Contact employers to identify job placement opportunities and career advancement opportunities. • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. Requirements: • B.A. degree in related field: Social Sciences, gerontology, psychology. • 3+ years, job development or employment experience. • 3 years in supervisory capacity. • Strong contract management skills. • Excellent reading, verbal, and written skills. • Knowledge of individual differences with emphasis on cultural and environmental factors effecting disadvantaged older adults. • Knowledge of methods of assessments of individual differences relevant to occupations and of workforce. • Knowledge of requirements of various occupations in terms of interest, training requirements, etc. • Knowledge of community resources and supportive services. • Develop, analyze, and monitor program budgets and reports. • Must be skilled at public speaking. • Computer literate - Excel, Outlook and the use of internet.
