Job Title: Graphic Design Artist — Screen Printing
Reports To: Print Shop Manager

Position Summary
The Graphic Design Artist creates and prepares artwork for screen-printed apparel and other printed products. This position works with customers and production staff to develop accurate, attractive designs that meet customer expectations and are ready for printing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Create original designs, logos, lettering, and layouts based on customer requests.
• Edit, recreate, and clean up customer-provided artwork for printing.
• Prepare customer proofs showing design placement, size, and colors.
• Make revisions and obtain documented customer approval before releasing artwork for production.
• Prepare print-ready files, including vector artwork and color separations as needed.
• Coordinate with production staff to ensure designs are appropriate for the printing process, garment, and number of ink colors.
• Check spelling, sizing, colors, and artwork details for accuracy.
• Manage multiple orders and meet established deadlines.
• Maintain organized artwork files, customer approvals, and design records for repeat orders.
• Communicate professionally with customers and coworkers.
• Follow shop procedures and assist with other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW, MAC, or comparable graphic design software.
• Basic knowledge of typography, layout, color, and vector graphics.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management.
• Ability to follow directions, accept feedback, and make revisions.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Graphic design experience or a portfolio demonstrating relevant skills.
• Screen printing artwork preparation experience preferred; training may be provided.

Work Environment
Work is performed in an office and print shop setting and involves regular computer use and coordination with production staff.
