This role is based at a military medical facility located at Fort Bragg, NC.This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) announcement aimed at utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to attract and appoint qualified individuals to competitive service roles.
The purpose of this announcement is to create a pool of readily available candidates for positions that are challenging to fill as they become open. Multiple vacancies may be filled from this announcement, and we are accepting applications continuously; qualified candidates will be reviewed as positions arise.
Named in honor of Medal of Honor recipient PFC Bryant H. Womack, our organization is a fully accredited regional medical center with 110 beds, focusing on evidence-based practices and graduate medical education. We serve Fort Bragg, the largest U.S. Army installation globally, known for Airborne and Special Operations. Our primary care facilities are located in Fort Bragg, Fayetteville, Hope Mills, and Linden Oaks.
Situated in Fayetteville, Fort Bragg is conveniently located just two hours from the coast and five hours from the Appalachian Mountains, with easy access to I-95 for travel north and south. This central North Carolina area enjoys a temperate climate throughout the year. Numerous amenities are available, including premier golf courses, esteemed universities, a skeet range, horseback riding facilities, an ice skating rink, modern fitness centers, daycare services, high-quality dining options, full-service banking, convenience stores, barbershops, and florists.
Key ResponsibilitiesMain Duties:
- Deliver expertise in advanced general diagnostic radiology techniques, including but not limited to Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Computed Tomography (CT), Mammography, Magnetic Resonance Angiography (MRA), Nuclear Medicine, and Ultrasound.
- Gather patient history for general radiographic assessments, review relevant laboratory test results, and evaluate the severity of illnesses.
- Supervise radiographic examinations, ensuring that appropriate procedures are followed and correlating symptoms with the patient's pain and illness.
Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.

To qualify, candidates must meet the educational and/or experiential criteria outlined below. Experience includes both paid and unpaid roles, such as volunteer work through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, community, student, or social). All qualifying experience, including volunteer work, will be considered. Your resume should clearly detail your relevant experience; if qualifying through education, transcripts will be required as part of your application.Basic Requirements for Physician (Radiology-Diagnostic):
Degree: A Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or equivalent from an accredited institution in the United States or Canada. This degree must have been accredited by recognized bodies such as the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association or the Liaison Committee on Medical Education. For foreign medical degrees, equivalency to accredited U.S. schools must be demonstrated through permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates or successful completion of the U.S. Medical Licensing Examination.Licensure: Candidates must hold a current, unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a U.S. state, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a U.S. territory.
Graduate Training: Following the attainment of a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree, candidates must have completed at least one year of supervised clinical experience, such as a one-year internship or the first year of a residency program in an accredited hospital or institution.
Additional Qualifications for GP-14 Position: Applicants must have successfully completed the required accredited residency training in the relevant specialty (Radiology-Diagnostic) and possess equivalent experience and training totaling at least four years. Experience cannot substitute for the residency training required for this specialty.
Salary Information: If selected for a Physician role, a salary quote will not be provided at the time of the initial job offer. The salary determination process will commence after the initial offer is accepted, involving the Activity Compensation Panel to establish base pay and market pay for your starting salary, which will be communicated once approved.
Compensation for physician roles is based on a tiered scale, influenced by the specialty, grade, and location of the position. This announcement may be utilized to fill roles within the following tier:
