West Virginia Junior College is seeking an experienced and motivated Sonography Clinical Coordinator to assist with the development and launch of a new Sonography/Ultrasound Program . This innovative program is designed to address the growing workforce need for skilled sonographers across West Virginia through a flexible hybrid-online delivery model .

About the Program

The Sonography Program will combine engaging online instruction with hands-on clinical education through partnerships with local healthcare providers. This model offers students meaningful, real-world experience while supporting today’s working learners and meeting the needs of the healthcare community.

Position Responsibilities

The Clinical Coordinator will be responsible for:

• Working with the director to assist with the development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of the Sonography program
• Ensuring compliance with accreditation standards and industry best practices
• Assisting with curriculum development, faculty, and clinical partnerships
• Supporting student success through academic and clinical excellence
• Collaborating with internal teams and external healthcare partners
• Serve as clinical liaison for existing and potential sites that will provide clinical learning
  experiences consistent with program outcomes.
• Scheduling and communication with clinical faculty and development as well as prudent assignment
  of faculty to coordinating sites that are consistent with program outcomes.
• Acquire, maintain, and house any and all relevant data related to clinical experiences, such that
  it is organized, readily available, and safe from loss or theft.
• Maintaining proper affiliation agreements with clinical sites as required by the College, the Board
  of Nursing, and other Accrediting bodies.
• Maintain documentation related to clinical faculty, student, and site training and evaluation.
• Schedule clinical faculty and students to clinical experience(s) as appropriate and in compliance with
  clinical affiliate agreements.
• Ensure Clinical Faculty and clinical facilities have course learning objectives, student schedules, and
  all necessary documentation for each course/clinical rotation.
• Maintain all immunization records and documents required for students to participate in clinicals at
  clinical facilities.

Required Qualifications

• Baccalaureate degree or higher
• American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certification , with appropriate credential(s) in one or more of the following concentrations: Abdominal, OB/GYN
• Three (3) years of clinical experience as a registered sonographer
• Teaching experience in an accredited sonography program, either as an appointed faculty member or a clinical preceptor
  

While the Clinical Coordinator is responsible for fulfilling all primary responsibilities listed above to achieve the
immediate goals of the campus, he/she is responsible to meet all organization goals. As such, adjustments or
additions to these responsibilities and the methods by which they are achieved may be required by management to
ensure operational effectiveness and efficiency across departments, campuses and the organization as a whole.

Full-time position, core hours 8am-4pm. PTO available, no insurance benefits. Required to live within a commutable distance of lab/clinical locations in West Virginia.
