Compensation: $150,000–$175,000 annually
Location : Auburn / Roseville
Position SummaryCorrectional Healthcare Partners (CHP) is seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to serve as a Health Services Administrator (HSA) within a correctional facility. The HSA is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of healthcare services, ensuring clinical quality, regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and contract performance.
The HSA serves as the primary on-site administrative leader, working collaboratively with clinical leadership, CHP operations, and facility partners to ensure the delivery of high-quality healthcare services to the incarcerated population.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesSite Operations & LeadershipOversee the day-to-day operations of healthcare services within the correctional facility.
Serve as the primary on-site administrative leader and liaison between CHP, facility staff, and correctional leadership.
Ensure compliance with CHP policies, procedures, operational standards, and contractual requirements.
Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, professionalism, and patient-centered care.
Monitor operational performance and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and service delivery.
Participate in monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc leadership meetings as required.
Utilize clinical expertise as a Registered Nurse to support nursing operations and quality patient care.
Collaborate closely with the Director of Nursing (DON), Medical Director, and interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Support clinical workflow optimization and implementation of best practices.
Ensure clinical documentation, patient care processes, and healthcare services meet regulatory, contractual, and accreditation standards.
Assist with quality improvement initiatives, patient safety efforts, and performance monitoring activities.
Partner with Recruitment and Human Resources to support hiring, onboarding, retention, and workforce planning efforts.
Maintain and manage the site staffing matrix to ensure appropriate staffing coverage.
Coordinate employee schedules in collaboration with nursing leadership.
Monitor staffing trends and proactively address staffing gaps to ensure continuity of care.
Support employee engagement, performance management, and professional development initiatives.
Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as CHP policies and procedures.
Support audits, inspections, accreditation surveys, and contract monitoring activities.
Maintain accurate operational, staffing, and compliance-related records.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement corrective actions when necessary.
Monitor key performance indicators and support continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Support healthcare operations in accordance with budgetary guidelines and contractual obligations.
Monitor labor utilization and staffing efficiency.
Assist with resource allocation, operational planning, and budget management activities.
Review operational expenditures and support cost-effective business practices while maintaining quality patient care.
Serve as a key liaison between CHP leadership, clinical teams, correctional facility partners, and external stakeholders.
Provide regular operational updates and reports to organizational leadership.
Foster collaborative relationships across multidisciplinary teams.
Communicate effectively with staff at all levels of the organization and support conflict resolution when needed.
Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice required.
Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience required.
Leadership, supervisory, or management experience preferred.
Experience in correctional healthcare, behavioral health, public health, or another highly regulated healthcare environment preferred.
Strong knowledge of healthcare operations, regulatory compliance, accreditation standards, and clinical workflows.
Proficiency with electronic health records (EHRs), Microsoft Office applications, and healthcare management systems.
Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment.
Prior experience as a Health Services Administrator (HSA), Nurse Manager, Director of Nursing (DON), or similar healthcare leadership role.
Experience in a startup, growth-stage, or rapidly expanding healthcare organization.
Experience managing staffing matrices, workforce planning, and labor utilization.
Demonstrated success collaborating with cross-functional teams, including clinical, human resources, operations, and executive leadership.
Must possess the physical and mental capacity to safely perform the essential functions of the position within a correctional healthcare environment. Must be able to maintain professionalism and sound judgment while managing stressful and challenging situations.

Required to comply with all facility safety, security, and operational protocols.
