Managing Attorney – Detention and Deportation Defense Initiative (DDDI) The Immigrants' Rights/International Human Rights Clinic at Seton Hall University School of Law seeks an experienced attorney to serve as Managing Attorney for the DDDI. This is a year‑round non‑teaching position contingent on renewed funding. Responsibilities: Represent detained noncitizens before immigration courts, the Board of Immigration Appeals, and federal courts. Oversee DDDI operations including case assignment, hiring, staff development, contracting, invoicing, and budgeting. Engage in advocacy with partner organizations and attend stakeholder meetings. Supervise attorneys and law student interns. Required Qualifications: Law degree. At least five years of experience representing immigrants, preferably detained noncitizens, before immigration courts, BOIA, and/or federal courts. Outstanding organizational skills. Managerial and/or supervisory experience. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong written and oral communication skills. Desired Qualifications: Fluency in Spanish or another language (not required). Licenses and Certificates: Membership in a state bar in good standing (NJ bar membership or willingness to become a member). Salary: $96,000 – $132,000.
