Product Safety Engineering is a multifaceted discipline that combines technical expertise with an understanding of business needs to ensure the delivery of safe and effective products. As a Product Safety Engineer, you will drive the Wind Product Safety process by evaluating designs and implementing robust mitigation strategies for potential hazards. You will provide critical safety oversight throughout the entire product lifecycle—from initial concept through field resolution—to ensure the highest standards of safety for our global operations.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate design safety and mitigate potential personnel and environmental hazards throughout the entire product life cycle, from initial design reviews to the resolution of field issues.
• Lead the execution of the GE Vernova Wind Product Safety Process by applying rigorous standards to ensure safety and quality while promoting innovation and improvement.
• Conduct quantitative risk modeling on complex equipment and systems to identify potential risks and champion the resolution of safety-critical issues for both new product designs and existing field units.
• Work across various departments to integrate technical and business requirements, ensuring a comprehensive approach to product safety.
• Focus on identifying and quantifying system requirements, exploring different design concepts, conducting studies, and selecting optimal designs. This ensures the product is both safe and efficient.
• Encompass the entire lifecycle from concept through production to operation. It impacts projects, programs, and organizational practices, ensuring safety considerations are integrated throughout.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical) from an accredited college or university.
• 6+ years' experience in design, systems, manufacturing, field operations, or similar function.

Location: Greenville, SC (Relocation assistance can be provided if not already local). This opportunity is eligible to work a Hybrid schedule (Monday to Thursday – Onsite | Fridays – Work from home).

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $98,400.00 and $164,000.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
