Registered Nurse In Emergency Room

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: Flex between 0500 - 1730 and 0700 - 1930 based on staffing and census Experience: 24 months of current Emergency Room experience required License: Active Iowa or compact multistate nursing license required Certifications: - BLS - Basic Life Support required - ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support required - PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support required - TNCC - Trauma Nursing Core Competency required - NIH Stroke Scale certification required Must-Have: - Must have completed a travel contract within the previous 18 months - EPIC EMR experience required - Active PALS, TNCC certificates required - CPI, MOAB, MAB, SAMA accepted; preference for active certifications Description: The candidate will be responsible for providing care in an emergency room setting. The population includes a mixture of patients, and the nurse will manage drips and titrations. Ratios are 4 patients to 1 nurse. The candidate will be expected to float as necessary between emergency departments. Holiday work may be required unless the unit is closed. The candidate must provide a skills checklist specific to Emergency Room experience. References from direct supervisors or healthcare leaders within the last 24 months are preferred. A valid driver's license is required for this position. De-escalation training certificates are advantageous. Candidates must be willing to work every fourth weekend.
