Registered Nurse (RN) – Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Progressive Care Unit setting for cardiac and vascular surgical patient populations, including CABG, ICD, and pacemaker patients
• Administer and titrate cardiac drips including Nitroglycerin, Cardene, Heparin, Diltiazem, and Dopamine
• Monitor patients via telemetry and interpret cardiac rhythms in coordination with tele tech unit monitoring
• Operate equipment including Alaris IV pumps and wound vacs
• Float across multiple campuses as required
• Fulfill holiday coverage requirements as assigned, including applicable summer holidays

Required Qualifications

• Active Iowa RN license or multistate/compact license recognized in Iowa
• Minimum 24 months of recent experience in Telemetry/Cardiac, Stepdown, or Progressive Care
• Experience with ICD, pacemaker, CABG, and vascular surgical patient populations
• Cardiac drip titration experience and cardiac rhythm interpretation experience
• Proficiency with Epic EMR and Alaris IV pump and wound vac equipment
• Current AHA or ARC BLS and ACLS certifications
• Must have completed at least one travel nursing contract within the previous 18 months (no first-time travelers accepted)
• Level II Trauma experience required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Level I Trauma experience
• Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, or director within the past 24 months
