CDL Roll Off Driver

Responsibilities of Position Operate truck in a safe and compliant manner to provide roll‑off delivery and removal services to customers on an assigned route(s) or by work order. Maintain and update route sheets. Conduct daily pre‑trip/post‑trip inspections and complete DVIR logs. Visually inspect roll‑off containers and ensure proper load securement to prevent loss of trash and debris. Clean up areas located around compactor when servicing customers as needed. Maintain cleanliness of truck cab. Enter and exit the truck multiple times per day. Climb to hook/unhook containers, move items to smooth the load and secure tarps. Professionally interact with internal and external customers, and work with dispatch on additional work orders to ensure quality customer service. Perform other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibility This position will not manage employees. Skills & Abilities Needed for Position Ability to read and understand a map and/or navigation system. Excellent truck driving and maneuvering skills. Ability to drive a manual transmission is preferred. General knowledge of truck mechanics. Good written and verbal communication skills to be able to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers. Must be able to read and speak the English language well enough to communicate, understand, and respond to questions, directions, traffic signs, signals, and safety training. Experience & Knowledge Needed for Position 1–2 years CDL truck driving experience preferred. Waste industry experience, a plus. Physical Requirements in a Regular Workday Frequently lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling a maximum of 50 lbs. Occasionally lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling a maximum of 100 lbs. Continuously working outside in changing temperatures, wet/humid conditions. Continuously working in areas of dust, odors, mist, gases, and other airborne matter. Frequently stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling. Frequently climbing and/or balancing. Frequently sitting, standing, walking. Additional Working Conditions / Aspects Must have at least a valid Class B CDL. Must have a valid DOT Medical Card or be able to obtain one prior to hire. Must be at least 19 years of age. No more than three moving violations within the last two years. Must not have any DUI or OVI convictions within the last five years or two in the last ten years. Possible exposure to high‑traffic conditions and/or tight driving areas. Exposure to residential and commercial waste. Ability to travel between offices as required. Ability to work flexible hours; expected to work nights and weekends as needed. Ability to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays. Legally eligible to work in the United States. Valid driver’s license (if applicable). Must successfully complete pre‑employment testing. Must be able to read and speak the English language.
