While distinct in nature, both responsibilities carry real weight. We are looking for a technically sharp, detail-oriented developer who communicates with clarity, takes ownership end-to-end, and genuinely enjoys being part of a team that builds things that matter.What You'll DoArchitect, develop, and maintain internal business applications that support daily operational needs and scale with the organizationDesign and maintain automated test frameworks and infrastructure for cable modem hardware, ensuring thorough validation and supporting quality assurance at every stagePartner closely with business users and testing engineers to translate complex requirements into robust, automated solutionsLead and participate in code reviews, setting a high bar for quality, maintainability, and team standardsIntegrate applications, platforms, and internal and external services through well-designed REST APIs and relational database interactionsDrive continuous integration pipeline development and improvements to support reliable, repeatable automated test executionProduce thorough documentation of code, test procedures, and technical processes to support team alignment and cross-functional clarityOther duties as assignedQualificationsWhat Is a Must Have5+ years of professional software development experience, with a demonstrated ability to own features and systems from design through deliveryExpertise with SQL and relational databases, including querying, schema design, and how data structures support application needsDeep proficiency in Python — you write code that is clean, testable, and built to last, and you can articulate whyStrong command of Git and collaborative version control practices, including branching strategies, pull requests, and constructive code reviewProven experience with pytest and/or comparable testing frameworksSolid experience building and consuming REST APIs, with an understanding of good design principlesFamiliarity with networking concepts, protocols, and diagnostic toolsStrong communication skills — you can work effectively across engineering disciplines and articulate technical decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholdersWhat Will Set You ApartBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related fieldWorking understanding of JavaScript / TypeScript / Node.jsHands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as GitLab CI or equivalentSolid grasp of application architecture fundamentals — you think about how systems fit together, not just whether the code runsAt CableLabs You'll Enjoy Comprehensive Compensation and Benefits:Compensation: The salary range is $117,910 – $144,170 .
