The successful candidate will effectively manage site land disturbance and permitting activities, reclamation activities, and biodiversity-related projects while ensuring full regulatory compliance with the site’s Plans of Operations, Reclamation Permits, and Biodiversity Program.The ideal candidate will possess strong project management skills and demonstrate the ability to work effectively within a diverse team. Your role will be critical in helping us achieve our environmental objectives and sustain our commitment to responsible mining practices. Develop and execute reclamation and closure plans in compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards. Complete activities associated with Carlin’s Biodiversity Program, including biological survey oversight, managing long-term riparian restoration and habitat mitigation projects, noxious weed management, and wildlife management.Assist with Plan of Operations amendments and associated NEPA permitting actions, as needed.Build strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including Federal and State authorities, to communicate monitoring results and collaborate on strategies for the successful execution of reclamation and closure activities.Assist with training NGM employees and contractors.Responsible for periodic, after-hours on-call response to environmental incidents.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in a physical or biological sciences, natural resource management, environmental engineering, or related field requiredExcellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal skills requiredProven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously requiredIn-depth experience with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint requiredAbility to operate a light vehicle in off-road and/or inclement conditions requiredAbility to regularly walk over uneven, sloped, rocky, wet or icy ground and the ability to lift 40 or more pounds consistently and safely requiredExperience with GIS is highly preferredContractor management and budgeting experience preferredExperience in regulatory agency interactions preferredOne to three years in a mining industry setting preferredFamiliarity with compliance systems and ISO 14001 preferredThank you for your application; however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.About the organizationNevada Gold Mines (NGM) is a joint venture between Barrick (61.5%) and Newmont (38.5%) that combined our significant assets across Nevada in 2019 to create the single largest gold-producing complex in the world.
