Maintenance Worker

The Maintenance Worker will be responsible for assisting with and performing tasks for the purpose of preventive maintenance of all components within our PA facilities. This will include keeping machines full of coolant and at a good percent to save on tooling and inserts. This role will support our facilities during our night shift operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Ability to follow verbal and written instructions

Ability to read and work from scaled drawings

Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and written)

Maintain coolant and oil as needed

Clean out coolant pan and screens as needed

Maintain barfeeder screens and oil

Assist in various types of preventative maintenance

General cleanup of shop areas

Introductory machining troubleshooting

Ability to operate hand and power tools

Ability to operate mechanical/electrical diagnostic equipment

Ability to work independently

Maintain emotional control under stress

Observe and practice all safety rules and requirements pertaining to hazardous chemicals, asbestos containing materials (ACM), and environmental hazards.

Comply with directions and instructions from supervisor and perform other tasks and responsibilities as may be assigned.

Comply with district policies, as well as state and federal laws and regulations.

Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience Requirements:

High School diploma or GED and rational train of thought.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities. May be required to train and assist other employees.

Work Environment:

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Must possess good physical dexterity and have the ability to perform manual tasks and body movements including climbing, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, walking, standing, and carrying. Ability to lift 50 pounds of weight. Work outside and inside. Exposure to extreme temperatures, dust, toxic chemicals and materials; slippery or uneven walking surfaces; work on ladders, scaffolds, platforms. This position is primarily located in Meadville but will also need to be able to report to and assist with projects in our Saegertown facility.
