Control Engineer

Electrical Manufacturing Engineer – Santa Barbara, CA – On Site

Base Pay Range: $110,000 – $130,000 per year.

Hours: 1st Shift (Monday–Friday).

Responsibilities

• Lead enhancements to supply chain processes and resolve end‑of‑life issues for test equipment.
• Support AFM system control evolution through electronics design and prototyping.
• Evaluate alternative design approaches through analysis, modeling, and testing.
• Select components based on function, reliability, availability, and cost considerations.
• Develop test plans to verify performance against requirements.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical/Electronic Engineering with 5+ years experience or MS with 2+ years experience.
• Experience in integration and verification of high‑performance analog designs.
• Proficiency in FPGAs/microprocessor programming, system controls, data acquisition, and analysis.
• Skills in troubleshooting electronic circuits at component level.
• Experience with PCB design, analysis, assembly, test, and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with OrCAD/Cadence Allegro, Altera/Quartus, PSpice or similar tools.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics and manage BOMs.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in electronic design for instrumentation or metrology involving high‑performance control and data acquisition.
• Knowledge of power supplies and high‑voltage designs.
• Familiarity with standards like IPC, ISO, CE (EMC & Safety).
• Experience managing third‑party contractors.
