FLSA: Non-exempt

Hours Worked:Typically, Monday through Friday, forty-hours per week.

However, must be flexible to meet the needs of the department and complete other projects as assigned.

Position Summary:

The Biologist I will be primarily responsible for the organization, preparation, and analysis of clinical samples. Proper documentation and lab notebooking are essential in this role.


Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for receiving, verifying, tracking, storing, transferring and shipping specimens for clinical and preclinical studies.
• Propose and implement process improvements in processes such as sample tracking, shipping, study data processing and asset utilization.
• Manage inventory of lab consumables and preparation of reagents.
• Manage freezer inventories
• Perform aliquoting required for sample management and testing
• Operate and maintain the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) to register, sort, track and aliquot clinical and preclinical samples, ensuring accurate sample identification, chain-of-custody and data integrity throughout the sample life cycle.
• Use liquid handler automations including Tecan, Hamilton and other robotic systems
• Maintain and operate standard laboratory equipment including centrifuges, pipettes and other specialized equipment necessary to support the laboratory.
• Record data in Electronic Lab Notebooks
• Knowledge of analyzing data with familiarity to Excel and other analytical techniques
• Comply with clients and company management systems in accordance with appropriate regulatory agencies
• Follow guidelines set forth by clients and in the company Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures
• Other duties as defined by manager, department needs and workload

• Comply with clients and Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services, Inc management systems in accordance with appropriate regulatory agencies.
• Adhere to the requirements of the BV-CPS Quality System.

Education and Experience:

• Degree requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Biology or closely related field
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in laboratory environment

Compensation Range: $24.00-$26.00 per hour (e.g., the job posting is not necessarily reflective of actual compensation that may be earned, and actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as location, education, experience, and skillset).
