About the Position

Job Title: RN Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Profession: RN Specialty: Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 AM - 07:30 PM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Certification Must-Have: EPIC EMR Experience in a similar unit within the last 12 months Description: Traveler will be responsible for self-studying telemetry strips upon acceptance. A basic dysrhythmia test will be given during the first week of assignment. This test must be passed to work on the telemetry/med surgical unit. Delivers care to patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. Coordinates care with other health team members. Effectively interacts with patients and significant others while maintaining high standards of professional nursing. Provides high-quality care to geriatric, medical/surgical, adult, and telemetry patient populations. Candidates may be required to float to other campuses as necessary. Traveler may occasionally be placed on call during periods of low census. If called in, traveler should be able to respond and arrive on-site within one hour. Telemetry ratios are currently 1:4 on days and 1:5 on nights. Medical/surgical ratios are currently 1:5 on days and 1:6 on nights. Floating is required for any non-critical care inpatient units including to the emergency department if there are boarded patients. If the traveler has critical care experience, they may occasionally float to critical care units. Unit rotation requires every other weekend. Traveler will be responsible for self-studying telemetry strips upon acceptance. A basic dysrhythmia test will be given during the first week of assignment, which must be passed.
