Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Aircraft Interior Finisher – Technician II to join our growing team in Chesterfield, MO. This position is ideal for someone with hands-on finishing, manufacturing, refurbishment, or custom craftsmanship experience who takes pride in producing high-quality work.

The Finisher Technician II will prepare, finish, repair, and inspect a variety of interior components while working with materials such as wood, laminates, composites, metals, carbon fiber, fiberglass, fabrics, and leather.

This position offers the opportunity to continue developing advanced finishing and aviation interior skills through hands-on training and increasingly complex projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare surfaces by sanding, cleaning, and performing other preparation work prior to finishing.
  • Mix and apply stains, sealants, paints, clear coats, and custom finishes using a variety of techniques.
  • Inspect completed components to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Modify or repair damaged components as needed.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Work with a variety of materials, including wood, laminates, metals, composites, carbon fiber, fiberglass, fabrics, leather, foams, glues, and adhesives.
  • Perform assigned work with minimal supervision while keeping leadership updated on project status.
  • Accurately document completed work and labor hours.
  • Follow established Quality Management System requirements.
  • Maintain exceptional attention to detail and ensure work is ready for inspection.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior team members when needed.
  • Work closely with supervisors, crew leads, quality personnel, and other departments to complete projects on schedule.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Follow all applicable FAA, regulatory, quality, and safety requirements.
  • Maintain high-quality craftsmanship in a schedule-driven production environment.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2–5 years of manufacturing experience related to production, finishing, or refurbishment.
  • Aviation-specific or equivalent experience is preferred but not required.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Experience with sanding, surface preparation, staining, painting, sealing, clear coating, or similar finishing processes.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality finished products.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Good organizational and communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn new processes and accept additional on-the-job training.
  • Ability to work various shifts and overtime when required.
  • Ability to accommodate occasional overnight or short-notice travel.

Physical Requirements

  • Routinely lift up to 60 pounds and occasionally lift 100+ pounds .
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, and stooping.
  • Good hand and finger dexterity for detailed finishing work.
  • Ability to perform repetitive hand and arm movements.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, around varying temperatures, at heights above six feet, and in noisy environments.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Experience in cabinet finishing, custom woodworking, furniture finishing, automotive finishing, aircraft interiors, manufacturing, or refurbishment may translate well into this position.
