Senior Software Engineer – Warner Bros. Games Boston Warner Bros. Games Boston, a mobile-focused studio within Warner Bros. Discovery, is developing Game of Thrones: Dragonfire. We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to architect, develop, maintain, and improve core game systems for this free‑to‑play title. Responsibilities Architect, develop, maintain, and improve systems that support the mobile game client. Assist general game development, including gameplay features, optimization, UI, and bug fixing. Collaborate with engineers, feature owners, designers, and artists to determine requirements and deliver complete, timely systems. Mentor junior engineers and support their skill development. Contribute to software development best practices, game design, feature implementation, and tooling. Participate in code, game, and architecture reviews, providing constructive feedback to enhance code quality. Qualifications 4+ years of software development experience. In-depth knowledge of Unity3D, preferably mobile game development. Strong C# programming skills and familiarity with common data structures and software design practices. Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Self-directed and capable of working unsupervised while supporting other engineers as needed. Strong judgment in applying model-assisted coding across varied tasks. Growth mindset, attention to detail, and willingness to learn and accept feedback. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Nice to Have Experience building asynchronous or synchronous multiplayer games. Experience with gRPC, RESTful services, and Git. Development for iOS and/or Android. Mentoring other engineers. Contributing to team AI practices (e.g., AGENTS.md, rules). Experience with Golang, AWS, or other server technologies. Experience developing 4X strategy mobile games. Familiarity with the Game of Thrones television series and/or books. Education Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience. Compensation & Benefits Pay Range: $108,500.00 – $201,500.00 salary per year. Base pay is one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package and may be supplemented with annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards.
