Remember to check your CV before applying Also, ensure you read through all the requirements related to this role.The Maintenance Technician is primarily responsibility for facility maintenance including preventive maintenance, machine repair, tool repair and maintenance of the general facility.Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesRepair or replace defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment.Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions, following checklists and work sheets.Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.Assemble, install or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery, and equipment.Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary.Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions.Record type and cost of maintenance or repair work.Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.Dismantle devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools.Identify spare and replacement parts, and find where to purchase parts.Knowledge and Skills RequirementsCertificate or credential in a specialized field or trade, i.e. electrical, mechanical and one or more functional areas (Welding, Precision Machining, Machine Repair, Fabrication, Arc Flash) or demonstrates competency in a specialized areaExperience with CMMS PreferredHigh School Diploma/GED required plus Technical/Trade School or equivalent combination of work experiencePrior manufacturing work experience in operating machinery and using various hand toolsMust be able to read and interpret measuring devices (tape measures, calipers, scales, meters)Must be able to work in the USEquipment Maintenance — Perform routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.Repairing — Repair machines or systems using the needed tools.Troubleshooting — Determine causes of operating errors and implement corrective actionActive Listening — Give full attention to what other people are saying, take the time to understand the points being made, ask questions as appropriate, and be mindful not to interrupt.Installation — Install equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications.Equipment Selection — Determine the tools and equipment needed to perform the job.Critical Thinking — Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.Reading Comprehension — Understand written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.Operation Monitoring — Monitor gauges, dials, or other indicators to ensure machines are functioning properly.Coordination — Adjust actions in relation to others' actions.Teamwork – Able to understand role on team and to work directly with supervisors and managers as well as peers and other coworkers.Able to perform complex mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.CompetenciesExcellent communication and follow-up skillsDetail and task orientatedContinuous improvement /innovationMust be able to read and write EnglishBasic computer skills including: MS Excel and Word, Internet Search, reading documents.Key Behaviors Are accountable to othersHave the courage to challenge the status quoAre honest with co-workers and customersAble to be innovative problem solversAre engaged team membersAdd value to the CompanyExpects excellence of self and othersOverserves top customersUnderstands, simplifies and acts to improve processesPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
