The purpose of the Property Specialist 2 position is to perform receiving tasks essential to the successful operation of the dining unit within University Housing & Dining Services (UHDS), maintaining adequate quantities of food and non-food supplies, receiving, checking accuracy of deliveries, properly storing supplies, and delivering supplies to dining locations per the requisitions from the micro restaurants. This involves proper handling, storage, sanitation, and timely handling of stock. This position is responsible for the data entry of all purchases, returns, exchanges, transfers, and purchase orders as well as the updating of goods to their assigned inventory locations. This position has responsibility for physical inventory as well as inventory control in the menu & inventory management program, Jamix. This position is eligible for meal perquisites per the SEIU contract. Learn more about University Housing & Dining Services: Key Responsibilities: Inventory/Computer Support, including the use of Jamix to enter receiving data and transfers Coordination of storeroom activities, including rotating products, receiving and checking all deliveries, conducting inventory, and maintaining inventory control Maintenance, safety, and sanitation of storage spaces and loading areas Training and leadership for employees General support duties, including driving delivery trucks or vans as specified Qualifications: REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience performing stores and inventory work; and training or experience providing knowledge of inventory control systems, and transportation agencies and shipping methods. Working Conditions/Schedule: Physical Working Conditions: This is a physically active job in a commercial warehouse. Incumbent will experience long periods of standing on a hard floor; long periods sitting doing data entry; and fluctuations in work volume, exposure to heat (position works adjacent to a commercial kitchen) and cold (freezer temperatures below 32 degrees), and exposure to noise. Bending, lifting, and pushing repetitive motions are required in performing tasks. This position also requires lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 50 lbs., and pushing and pulling of objects weighing up to 500 lbs. (i.e. using a manual pallet jack to move a loaded pallet). Must be able to remain on feet for long periods of time. Work Schedule: Flexibility in work shifts is necessary. Shift and/or work assignment may be changed based on operational needs. We are a seven day a week operation. Because we are responsible to provide all meals for the student residents, early morning, evening, weekend, and holiday work may be required. Good attendance is crucial for stability and day-to-day business needs. Must follow attendance schedule and break schedules, and must be on time and in uniform when shift begins. This position is deemed essential; and the incumbent is expected to report to work during inclement weather, emergency and other University work curtailments or closures. This position may need to regularly access storage areas in a residence hall without an escort.
