TypeDirect PlacementExperience-1Salary$95,000-$115,000 / yearJOB SUMMARY The Mechanical Engineer II is responsible for researching, planning, and designing stations and machines using calculations, mechanical principals, and proven practices to create semi/fully automated assembly and test systems.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSResearches and analyzes data such as customer request for quote, customer specifications, and proposals to develop or determine feasibility of design or application.Work within design hour constraints, schedule constraints, and overall machine budget constraints.Work in a collaborative environment to make sure the designs developed are the most cost effective and will meet the customer's requirements.Develop/review concepts to confirm the design will meet required performance metrics including cycle time, yield, uptime, CPK and Gage R&R.Design mechanisms, stations, machines using 3D modeling software (SolidWorks).Works with vendors to obtain competitive quotes for major purchased components.Create detailed fabrication drawings for all custom designed parts.Create detailed assembly drawings identifying each individual componentCreate a complete Bill of Material for each design/station.Release completed designs to Project ManagementOccasionally acts as Project Engineer on smaller projectsSupports fabrication, assembly, debug and machine qualification activities to ensure design conforms to customer requirements and specificationsObserve safety procedures.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCEBachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent work experience.5 or more years' experience in an automation related field, preferred.Proficient in Solidworks, AutoCAD, Microsoft Word and Excel.General knowledge of GD&T, EPDM and Jig and Fixture design.Occasionally required to travel up to 5%.Nesco Resource offers a comprehensive benefits package for our associates, which includes a MEC (Minimum Essential Coverage) plan that encompasses Medical, Vision, Dental, 401K, and EAP (Employee Assistance Program) services.
